The Ice Storm of '07

We lost electricity for 7 days in December of '07 due to a massive ice storm that brought down countless trees and power lines. The temperature didn't crack 30 degrees for the first 5 of those days. So we pulled a mattress in the front room and slept by the fire place every night. From these pictures you can tell how unamused Rachel was about the situation. Bleu, however, enjoyed the extra cuddle time and getting to roam around the neighborhood looking at fallen trees.

Tucker's sense of smell

Either he can't smell or he's the first person I've known not to be revolted by my shoes after mowing the yard.

Tucker Video

Bleu really would have a blast with the little monster.

Short ones of him and Lola that were meant to be pictures. One he's trying to eat her face, the other he's standing under her trying to eat Rachel's sandwich at the drive-in.

Cubs

Tucker might like the Cubs more than I do.

Our Ghetto Getaway.

There is a sections in our backyard that due to a combination of the house, trees and fence only gets about 30 minutes of sun a day. Bleu and Lola would spend most of their time during the summer there digging mud holes to lay in and stay cool. Well, we filled in the holes last week, put some black landscaping paper over it and covered it with river rock. Throw in a kiddie pool and some tiki torches and its our new Ghetto Getaway.

Of course Lola still prefers to lay on the deck and watch Tucker play instead of joining in, but she's getting better about allowing him in her presence for a spontaneous tug-o-war session every now and then.

Tucker just runs and plays until he passes out.

Its funny though, because he seems afraid to go all the way around the back yard unless someone is with him.

He really likes hanging around the pool and getting in Rachel's lap.

We also went to Utica Square on Thursday Night with some friends for a free concert featuring "Mid-Life Crisis". They are definitely in their "Mid-Life" but are actually really good. If you get a chance Utica is the place to be on Thursday's Lola had a blast flirting with some Golden Retrievers and letting little girls pet her.

Tucker didn't last very long.

Dr. Poteat

Our Vet's name is Dr. Poteat. He's a real laid back older guy from Blytheville, Ar, which makes him a little more credible than the rest of the Vets in Tulsa, OK. He sent me the picture they have of Bleu on file, its one of my favorites! He's lettin it all hang out on this one.
I took Tucker to the Vet last Thursday and the Doc said he's a picture of health and should be tough as nails in a few months. He weighed in a 9 lbs at 8 weeks to the day old and seemed to be okay with the Dr. visit with the exception of the "forced stool withdrawal."
