1 Year

Its been 365 days since Bleu passed away and we lost my Dad 2 months ago today. I hope they are having a good time together and know how much we miss them and think about them. There are certainly a lot less conversations and laughter in my life now, but we are learning how to get by.

Bleu's Birthday

That's Baby Bleu on his Dad Bud. It would be his 7th birthday today. He would have had fun yesterday because Tucker got neutered and Nala got lost. It would have been exciting for him. We still miss him and think about him a lot.

Been awhile...

We took Tucker on this first canoe trip a couple of weeks ago, went to Wild Brew, babysat for a weekend, went on some walks and made a Drillers game since the last time I posted anything. These are some pictures.

Loaded up and ready to go.

Getting ready for boarding.

Lola quickly found a comfortable position once the initial terror wore off.

Tucker was full of energy for the entire 6 hours or so, and was a really good swimmer. Unfortunately we don't have any pictures of that.

Marshall Brewing at Wild Brew. They were probably the busiest booth of the night.

A big blow up Tecate can.

We decided to go walking during the day because it was like 73 degrees outside.

However, it quickly rose to around 90 which is not preferred "Lola Conditions". She stopped in the middle of the walk and Tucker and I had to go get the truck and come back to pick Her and Rachel up. She really did get over heated and when we got home we set up a fan for her and put a cool rag on her.

Tucker eventually blocked her from the fan.

So from now on the sun has to be closer to coming up or going down. Usually rules we adhere to, but apparently have to live by now.

And take breaks on occasion. Here's Rachel resting.

A river shot.

Tucker observing, with his 'handicapped' leash that he has to wear bc he can't walk on a regular one.

Tucker, not taking advantage of the break.

Lola taking advantage of it.

Park Police Patrol

Another river shot.

Tucker mid-lick.

Tucker's cougar friend Nala.

Crow's Creek near the Arkansas

Tucker and Nala

Bailey, Nala and Tucker wondering why they are still outside.

My Wife.

Tucker's First BBQ Bone!

And he instantly became Lola's best friend.

But he was able to fend her off and eat it all by himself.

Then it was back to playing in the pool while Lola looked on.

MLB short and sweet

One of Bleu's favorite things (At least how I saw it) was sitting on the couch with me watching baseball. So to cut the tension for the rest of the season , I will tell you what will happen.

At the half way point it should be easy.

NL East--Phillies
NL Central--Cubs (with DeRosa taking a dive with the cards and the Dl giving the Cubs' best player back its a lock)
NL West--Dodgers, Duh
Wildcard--Giants(That right, the effin Giants)

AL East--Red Sox
AL Central--Tigers
AL West--Angels
Wildcard--Rangers, I hope

Anyway there is no doubt that the Red Sox will own the AL when push comes to shove. The NL has a few questions Cubs/Dodgers/Phillies. Despite my bias in this conversation, there is no denying that the best lineup in Baseball belongs to the Phillies. I mean, Rollins, Victorino, Utley, Howard, Ibanez, Werth, Feliz and whoever plays catcher. How did they build this team? They gave up Burrell for Ibanez in the off-season. Ibanez is on the Dl right now, but will be back in a week and already has out-performed their highest expectations for him. Who wants to pitch to that lineup? Only chance is the Dodgers and they don't have the patience for it. Phillies will win the World Series again versus the Red Sox. God help us all from the trash talking coming out of Philly for the next year.

(This may or may not be a jinx, you make the call).

The Ice Storm of '07

We lost electricity for 7 days in December of '07 due to a massive ice storm that brought down countless trees and power lines. The temperature didn't crack 30 degrees for the first 5 of those days. So we pulled a mattress in the front room and slept by the fire place every night. From these pictures you can tell how unamused Rachel was about the situation. Bleu, however, enjoyed the extra cuddle time and getting to roam around the neighborhood looking at fallen trees.
